EWTEC 2023 is hosted by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) through the ‘Bilbao School of Engineering’. This is the third time the wave and tidal community have been welcomed to the region. ICOE 2010 was hosted in Bilbao and ICOE 2022 was hosted in San Sabastian.
WEDUSEA will be at EWTEC 2023 and looks forward to the opportunity to tell you more about the WEDUSEA project.
Prof Tony Lewis, Chief Operating Officer at OceanEnergy says:
“We are delighted to be attending EWTEC 2023. As a wave energy project, WEDUSEA is interested to know that The Basque country has a specific priority area on wave energy, according to the Spanish Science and Technology plan. In 2011, the first plant with unique characteristics in the world was launched, based on the use of wave energy through the construction of a new dike at Mutriku which uses Oscillating Water Column (OWC) technology.
WEDUSEA is set to be a stepping stone towards the commercialisation of wave energy and we are looking forward to meeting with other offshore renewables industry leaders in Bilbao.”
